Where are the Best Part Time Careers?

If you are doing a career search for Part Time Careers, why not get one of the Best? Furthermore, if you happen to be looking for a part time work, you probably have a reason for not wanting to work full time.

You could be a student, mom, retired person, or seek part time income in addition to your full time job, or are searching for your ideal career through simply trying this job and that job on for size.

Nowadays, many temporary jobs are just like full time jobs, in that they pay good benefits, wages, have health insurance, vacation pay, and other fringes like employee discounts. It's not just full time positions that offer these things, anymore.

Competition for attracting the best employees has made this so. Some examples of jobs that pay well are substitute teachers who read stories to children, subs at middle schools, and high schools. You could also be a part time private tutor, or massage therapist. These part time jobs pay a good hourly wage from about $15 an hour, upwards.

Part time careers do not just mean fast food, anymore. Part time work is defined by the Bureau of Labor Statistics as someone working between one and thirty four hours per week, with an average of twenty one hours per week, worked.

Advantages of Part Time Careers

One advantage of part time careers, is extra time on your hands. This could be your golden opportunity to complete your college education online, while working in one of the best part time jobs. Online college courses are reasonably priced, and sometimes take less time to complete than at a traditional university, or college. Your studies can be completed at home on your PC, at your convenience during the day, evenings, or even on weekends.

You could even earn an Associate's, Bachelor's Degree, or a Certificate from a Technical College. Another benefit of home study, while working part time, is that you do not have to drive to a traditional university, searching the parking lot for a place to park.

There may be more opportunities for part time jobs, than full time careers, these days.

You could be a part time cashier, or even property manager. Many part time positions only require a high school diploma. College degrees are required for the more specialized jobs.

After a twenty plus year career, many retirees go back to part time jobs after a couple years, or months into retirement. Approximately one third of retirees in their mid sixties work after retiring. More than half of the Baby Boomers (Of which, I am one) say they would like to work part time after retirement.

This is precisely how I felt, and what you are seeing right here, is what I do now. So, if you are healthy and want to stay in the game, why not get into one of the best part time jobs? You may need the extra money due to rising health insurance costs, as a supplement to your pension.
