Career Match Test
A Career Match Test attempts to match your personality, things you value in a job, working interests, skills, and aptitudes to a career which blends in, well. There are a variety of tests, which measure traits about you somewhat differently, as it relates to careers. Some tests take a few minutes; others like the Myers Briggs® take longer, because it is more comprehensive.
There are many tests which measure certain aspects or qualities about you…
• Aptitude Tests- Will measure your ability to learn a skill, or be in a particular line of work. • Career Personality Tests- Are similar to the interest inventories, but tend to focus primarily upon those careers which would be a good fit to your personality style and to what you have the aptitude for doing, instead of pointing out what careers may interest you. • Career Tests- Can show you which jobs match your personality type, and point you in the direction of careers you may have the ability to do. • Fun Tests- Can be about almost anything. For example, there are love tests, and other tests which pin point your personal characteristics, and can focus on your emotions. • Intelligence Tests- Show how you relate to the population at large, in terms of your mental skills, and mental capacity for quickly learning new things. • Interest Inventories- Like the Strong® Interest Inventory, match you to those same occupations, that others are in who share similar interests and attitudes to yours. • Personality Tests- Will show you what type of personality you have, what things interest you, what you value, and how you relate to others. Taking more than one career match test will help to increase your awareness about which careers could be suitable for the type of person you are.
