Career Clusters - Teen and Midlife Careers

Career Clusters are Entire Industries.

Clusters of Careers are basically a large range of Job Choices within Related Occupations, and Industries.

The US Department of Education developed Sixteen Clusters in Collaboration with Business and Industry, in order to sort out which Jobs belong within each Cluster of Careers.

Students can search for careers within the Cluster at their schools, and career research a wide range of Job Choices within these Clusters.

Exploring Clusters of Careers will teach the Student what education they need to achieve their Future Career Goals.

There are Skills and Education common to each Cluster, although more specialized training may be required according to the jobs within each cluster choice. If you know what qualifications and education is required for the career you want to be in, there will be no mistakes and wasted time made during your Career Planning. You can be certain you are receiving the education and training you specifically need to get employed within the field of your choice.

Career Assessments are administered that match your interests, values, skills, and aptitudes to those Clusters of Jobs where there is a much greater chance of Career Success and Job Fulfillment. Many Career Possibilities and Choices lie within a particular Cluster of Careers that you have the aptitude for. You will have similar interests and abilities with those people who already have jobs within these clusters.

You may wish to take a look at various occupations through the Occupational Outlook Handbook. You will find Hundreds of Job Descriptions, Salaries, and Future Job Outlooks. For example, a Construction Cluster would have the various trades included, like Electricians and Carpenters, etc. Another Cluster could be Finance, which inside that particular Cluster would include Banking, Financial, and Investment Planning.


Statistics show that The More Education you receive, the Higher your Earnings will usually be.

Education can help you become more valuable to your Employer, and Therefore; Create more job security for you, and lessen your chances of being unemployed.

You can also research within the Career Clusters to make sure the Job you pick is from a High Growth Industry. This means that there will be Career openings constantly added, which also means a greater chance you will be able to get a job in that Occupation, and that you are not getting yourself into a stagnating, or dying Industry.

Career Planning is finding your Career Direction. Part of planning and career goal setting, is locating educational financing for higher education and training.

You want to find a job you love to do and have a passion for, earn more money, and be a success at doing it. If you discover your career interests through a Career Test, you can train and acquire the skills necessary to get into your Dream Job.
