Otherwise, you could be choosing a Career Mismatch, and no amount of Salary Paid will make You Happy.
You will be Unfulfilled Professionally, and your Personal Life will suffer because of a wrong job choice.
There are many Challenges while on your Career Search, or in making a Career Transition. Putting a Career Plan Together is the only way to meet the Challenge of achieving your Educational, Personal and Career Goals.

Do not take for Granted that the Suggestions from the Career Test are the Right career choices for You. You have to weigh what they Suggest against what Careers you Feel are the Best Matches for the Real You. Your Work Life Balance Depends upon choosing a Career that makes you Happy.
Ideal Career Choices are those, which align with Who You Are. And, unfortunately No one but you can decide what that particular Career is. Career Counselors and Career Tests can only Guide you.
Years ago, most people did not have the option to do a career search for their Dream Careers. They followed in their Parent's footsteps, or took what job was available. Survival was what mattered most.
The Great Majority of People worked, lived and died in the towns they grew up in. There were not the variety of career choices we have today. Even the notion of considering what one was going to do as a career based upon who you were, was probably considered Ludicrous in that time period.
Nowadays, almost the exact opposite is true. There are so many career choices, that most people have not even heard of some of the jobs that exist while doing their career search. We do not have to work within walking distance, because we have many more modes of transportation that did not exist in the past.
For example, there are thousands career choices that were not even in existence about a hundred years ago. Computers did not exist, along with Software Engineers. Creation of thousands of Modern Day Jobs, brought the Option of Choice, which made it possible for us to Dream about the Careers we could fit into as Unique Individuals during our career search.
Survival, is not necessarily the Prime Motivator when it comes to choosing Jobs and Careers, anymore
- Confusion about making career choices is common.
- You can choose a Job for Money, but you will not be fulfilled Professionally.
- You can choose a Job you love, and the money will probably come to you later.
- And, if you Choose a Job that does not Fulfill You because you Need that Job, you will not be Happy until you find that Particular Career You have a Passion for Doing.
- There are many stories of those who have left High Salaried Jobs to follow their Passion through hoosing an entirely different Career.
The Job Choice has to reflect who you are for you to be happy. If you do not like working with others, you better not get a Job involved in some kind of Encounter Group which requires close interpersonal interaction. There are all kinds of Careers; those where you work with others, or by yourself, or a combination of the Two. It is your pick. What kind of person are you?
The Job has to fit who you are to be truly successful in it. You simply have to be true to yourself, first. You cannot fit into a job that just is not you. We are all different, and with as many Career Opportunities as there are, we will all eventually fit ourselves into the right Career, even if its through trial and error. It is up to us to find out where we fit. No one can do it for us.
Question- Why work at a Job you do not have a Passion for?
If you have to stay in a Job for a while, because you need the money, fine. But, you can keep looking until you find that job you love to do. You can keep the Career that you do not like, until you Train for the New Job you have a Passion for. Many have done this. This is probably the easiest and least painless way to make a Career Transition. Make sure you do not stop searching, until you find the job that finally fits- You.
Questions to ask your self while Considering a Career
- How do you prefer to think? In other words, do you like to analyze on paper? Do you think mechanically with your hands, and are more of a doer? How do you prefer to do a Job?
- What skills do you like doing? You may know how to do some things well, but you may not enjoy doing them. Do not choose a job where you do not enjoy using the skills required to do it.
- What things truly interest you? What about your hobbies, or any special interests. What Jobs out there are similar to them? What have you dreamed of doing?
- Choosing the Right Job goes hand in hand with how well we know ourselves. We have to know what things we like and do not like, in order to pick the right Occupation.
